When you create a new property, attribute, defect, package, or checklist, you may notice that it doesn’t immediately show up in the Integration → Mapping list.
This is the expected behavior.
🔍 Why does this happen?
An item will only appear in the mapping list once it has been used at least once in a process or a standard.
Before usage → it’s hidden from the mapping list.
After usage → it becomes available and is automatically added to the mapping list.
🔗 When can I assign an externalId?
You can only associate an externalId value to an item after it first appears in the mapping list.
This means:
Create the item (property, attribute, defect, package, or checklist).
Use it in a process or standard.
Once it appears in Integration → Mapping, you can assign its
externalId.
✅ Example
You create a new checklist.
At first, it’s not visible under Integration → Mapping.
You assign that checklist to a process.
Now it appears in the mapping list, and you can set its
externalId.
📝 Key Takeaway
👉 Newly created properties, attributes, defects, packages, and checklists will only appear in the integration mapping list after being used in a process or standard. At that point, you can assign their externalId.
