Overview
Standards in your Clarifresh system can be easily duplicated or removed using the Copy and Delete functions. These actions are located in the top-right corner of the standard details page and give you quick control over your standard library.
Copying a Standard
When to Copy
You might want to copy an existing standard when you need to:
- Create a similar standard for a different customer
- Duplicate a standard with the same structure but different criteria values
- Quickly build new standards based on proven templates
- Save time instead of recreating standards from scratch
How to Copy a Standard
- Navigate to the standard you want to copy by selecting it from your Standards list in the left sidebar
- Locate the Copy icon in the top-right corner of the screen (it looks like two overlapping squares)
- Click the Copy icon — the system will instantly create a duplicate of your standard
-
Edit the copy as needed:
- Update the standard name to distinguish it from the original
- Modify attributes, defect criteria, or other parameters
- Adjust tolerance levels if required
- Assign it to different customers or products
Note: The copied standard appears as a new, independent standard. Changes to the original do not affect the copy, and vice versa.
Deleting a Standard
When to Delete
You might want to delete a standard when you need to:
- Remove outdated or no longer used standards
- Clean up your standard library
- Eliminate duplicates or test standards
- Maintain a streamlined list of active standards
How to Delete a Standard
- Navigate to the standard you want to delete by selecting it from your Standards list
- Locate the Delete icon in the top-right corner of the screen (it looks like a trash can)
- Click the Delete icon — a confirmation dialog will appear
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Important Warnings Before Deleting
⚠️ Permanent Action: Deletion is irreversible. Once a standard is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
⚠️ Check Dependencies: Before deleting, verify that:
- The standard is not currently in use by any active processes
- No quality control reports depend on this standard
- The standard is not assigned to any customer specifications
Best Practices
Before Copying
- Review the original standard to ensure it includes the elements you need
- Plan any modifications before copying to save time
- Use consistent naming conventions for duplicated standards
Before Deleting
- Document the standard specifications if you might need them later
- Inform team members who might rely on this standard
