Unlike regular attributes that capture specific values, Group Attributes define ranges and associate them with labels. This is particularly useful when classifying produce based on size, weight, or other measurable attributes.
Example: Size Group
The Size Group attribute is linked to the Diameter attribute (measured in mm). Instead of entering an exact value, the system assigns a label based on predefined ranges. The Size Group label will be displayed on the QC report, providing clear and standardized classification.
Configuration Example:
Assuming we categorize our produce in 3 type of ranges:
Diameter Range (mm) | Size Group Label |
22 - 24 mm | Small |
24 - 27 mm | Medium |
27 - 30 mm | Large |
How to Set It Up:
1- Access the attribute settings:
2- Select the configuration panel
3- Define the groups
4- Define the range for the attribute (e.g., diameter in mm).
5- Assign a label that describes the group range.
6- Click on the + button to add group and repeat the configuration for the next range.
In our example, the settings will look like:
Creating Ranges: Set the order from the Worst to Best Grade
When defining range values, it is essential to start with the lowest or worst-case grade and progressively move towards the highest or best grade. As in the above example for Size Group, start with Small and end with Large, assuming large is better than small.
Not All Group Attributes Include 'Group' in Their Name
Group attributes are not always named with 'Group' in their label. Examples include:
Color → A group attribute based on Color Percentage.
Color Variation → A group attribute based on Color Variation Value.
